Wessex Walkers are a walking club which uses local buses to access the beautiful countryside around Salisbury.
There are two walks of 4 to 6 miles each Monday morning during term time. See the latest Timetable for the current schedule of bus numbers and departure times. Walks have a volunteer Leader and a Back Marker, they recce walks beforehand and may change the route if conditions dictate. They are not responsible for any failures or changes to the bus schedule!
The group was formally part of Walking for Health but now members make an annual donation to Save the Children and the group is covered by the charity’s public liability insurance.
ALL MEMBERS WALK AT THEIR OWN RISK
EVERYONE MUST CARRY AN I.C.E. CARD [in case of emergency]
Please wear good walking boots and suitable clothes; our walks may be muddy, hilly and involve climbing styles. There is usually a short break for refreshments, bananas are a favourite.
You may walk with us up to three times before deciding to join, just turn up and introduce yourself to the leader and fill in an I.C.E. card. If you wish to join then please fill in and return the Health & Registration form. Visitors, friends and family who just want an occasional walk may make a donation on the day and give it to the Walk Leader.
Wessex Walkers enjoy a Salisbury walk and Christmas Lunch in December and a couple of social Soup Lunches during the year.
